HTML5 has came onto the scene (thanks to Steve Jobs) and I thought it would be a good idea to do a little research on the subject. It doesn't seem to be too much, already knowing HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc. But I like to keep notes for myself, so...

The canvas tag is a new element in html5.

Canvas was initially introduced by Apple for use inside their own Mac OS X WebKit component, powering applications like Dashboard widgets and the Safari browser. Later, it was adopted by Gecko browsers and Opera[1] and standardized by the WHATWG on new proposed specifications for next generation web technologies.[1]
